Therapy

Mary Landon, Ph.D., LPC, emphasizes a client-centered, strength-based approached to counseling based on her 20+ years of experience and education. She knows each client is unique and deserves an individual approach to therapy; she strives to help clients make changes in their lives that are consistent with who they are. Mary builds a nurturing environment that serves as a place to release past traumas and loss, thus fostering healing and change. She accepts clients who strongly desire change and are willing to partner with her to move forward in realizing personal and professional goals.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Mary is also certified in EMDR, a technique used in conjunction with in-office therapy to help those dealing with trauma, grief, and loss. EMDR helps to move the storage of a memory to a more functional part of the brain that can experience the event as being in the past. The events that once triggered the brain into over-reaction no longer have that effect, and the client can now react to the present without the past interfering. Using her EMDR training, Mary helps clients activate their natural healing processes.
